GEI Daily Lead
One short message a workday for foremen and superintendents

How it works

Leadership is influence: the effect you have on how people work, including when you're not there. These messages help GEI's crew leaders use that influence to bring out the best in their people.

  1. Each workday morning, a two-minute read on the phone.
  2. One thing to try with the crew that day, and one question to think about on the drive home.
  3. One line to keep everyone safety-minded through the day.

Four weeks, in order: leading yourself, seeing people clearly, bringing out the best in others, and owning the standard. The ideas come from Daniel Walker's books, The Accountable Life and Nobody's Watching, written plainly for a leadership role. GEI's own values (integrity, quality, personal development) are named where they apply.
